Bro. Matt Wilburn
I was born in
Booneville and it's hard to believe that I have come back to where I
started. My family moved around a lot while I was growing up
but
we finally settled in Tupelo, MS where I graduated from Tupelo High
School. I came back to Booneville to attend Northeast
Mississippi
Community College for two years followed by two more at Mississippi
College where I earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in Business
Administration. After working for several years I finally
gave
into what God wanted me to do and surrendered to the ministry.
I
had thought my plans were much better until then, but after years of
making excuses I got tired of making new ones snd enrolled in
Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary in Memphis, TN where I earned
a Masters of Divinity degree. While in seminary I
served on
the staff of Bellevue Baptist Church and married a girl from Arkansas
with roots in Oklahoma. As I was finishing my degree and
wondering where God would lead us Calvary called. God sent me
right back where it all began. Along the way my wife Natalie
and
I had two children: Allie age 2 and Nathaniel age 1. By the
way,
pray for Natalie because its tough raising three children (I'm the
third if you were wondering). |
